Blood Donation Camp
Launch of Mobile Blood Collection Van | Blood Donation Camp | Red Ribbon Club established at Vividh Edutech – PTU Learning Centre
CMO Kangra Dr Kultar Dogra flagged off the mobile blood bank from Dahramshala. The first Blood Donation camp in the district with the mobile van was conducted at Vividh Edutech, Dharamshala (PTU Learning Centre). The Mobile Blood Bank which has 4 couches for blood donation, refreshment cabin, health education cabin has come to the district for the first time.
Dr RK Sood, District AIDS Programme Officer, Kangra shared that the new Red ribbon Club has been established at Vividh Edutech. He further share the objectives of RRC and role in HIV prevention revolution and shared the action plan of Blood donation camps in the district. RRC work for creating a mass movement on HIV awareness and promoting voluntary non-remunerated blood donation among youth. He added that under the pledge 25 campaign, more and more youth are coming forward for the noble cause of ensuring safe blood. All youth should lead a healthy lifestyle including healthy diet, saying no to drugs and alcohol.
Youth of the RRC pinned red ribbons to the Director and guests as mark of solidarity. Babita Manhas Nodal Officer stated that the red ribbon is the symbol of unity, courage and determination to get nearer to the zero infection targets. The red ribbon reminds me of hope and of the need to stand together to fight not only HIV and AIDS but discrimination too.
Dr Anju Puri Blood Bank Officer Dharamshala appealed to all to come forward for the noble cause. Deliberating on importance of blood donation, she stated that any health person between the age of 18-60 having weight of 45 kg can donate blood. A Blood donor gets a free health checkup besides free screening for 5 diseases like HIV 1/2, hepatitis C, malaria, syphilis. Mr T.C. Bhagoria, Chairman, Vividh Edutech Pvt Ltd extended his gratitude towards health dept for organizing the camp. He appealed to all to come forward in the noble cause, and stressed that it does not cause any weakness.
