LC Meet
PTU DEP LC MEET HELD AT PATIALA BY RC-CCC
An PTU DEP LC meet was held by PTU RC CHANDIGARH COMPUTER CENTRE at hotel Naraian Continental Patiala on 24th April 2012. The meeting was presided by honorable Dean of PTU Dr.N.P.Singh and Mr.Avtar Singh Director CHANDIGARH COMPUTER CENTRE. All the LC heads under the Zone of RC-CCC participated in the meeting. All LC heads came to the meeting with their presentations about the overall performance of their LC’s for the academic year 2011-2012. Dr.N.P.Singh in his speech highlighted the various schemes which the university had implemented to augment the admissions in the LC’s. Among the notable one’s were the Rs. 2 crore Freeship scholarship schemes to the economically backward students of our states which would encourage students to enroll various courses in our LC’s. Mr.N.P.Singh said the LC’s should strive to continuously upgrade their syllabus and teaching methodology. He said most of the pending projects of the university were successfully implemented during his tenure. He also laid stress on the faculty training program and said the university was committed to provide the best possible training to its faculty and as a step towards this, PTU is willing to spend up to Rs.50,000 to any faculty who is interested in getting himself trained abroad.
Mr.Avtar Singh in his presentation announced special incentives such as Lap Top computers, cash prize of Rs.75,000 , a brand new Alto and a brand new Ford Figo apart from a free trip to Bangkok to its LC Heads on achieving their targets. Mr.Avtar Singh emphasized the need to organize seminars by sending invitation cards to students and advertising in the local media to boost admissions. He also said the LC’s should develop students base by building Network of friends tying up with small cenrte’s in villages and small towns and giving them some incentives for referring students. Mr.Avtar Singh motivated the LC’s to perform better and set high standards for themselves.
The directors from various LC’s gave their respective presentations highlighting their strengths and achievements. They thanked the RC for their continued corporation by supporting them in marketing and advertising.
