GGNIVS CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Vocational Studies (GGN Campus) today organized a workshop on “Digital Photography” at its premises today. As many as 50 students pursuing different Post graduate and under graduate courses in Mass Media, Journalism, Management and IT attended this workshop. Mr. A.P. Singh, Senior Editor, Communication Linkage Department, PAU was the guest speaker of the occasion.
The coordinator of the institute S. Manjit Singh Chhabra welcomed the guest speaker and said “Photography is still a hobby, but many people see it as a real job, considering the fact that Photography has become a real way of making money nowadays. The key to become a professional artist is to know as many digital photography tips as one can. This workshop is being conducted to enhance the student’s knowledge about the latest technologies and discoveries in the field”.
Deliberating on the topic, Mr. Singh briefed the students about the different types of cameras and basic camera controls. He said “Digital photography is a form of photography that uses an array of light sensitive sensors to capture the image focused by the lens, as opposed to an exposure on light sensitive film. The captured image is then stored as a digital file ready for digital processing, viewing or printing. Until the advent of such technology, photographs were made by exposing light sensitive photographic film, and used chemical photographic processing to develop and stabilize the image. By contrast, digital photographs can be displayed, printed, stored, manipulated, transmitted, and archived using digital and computer techniques, without chemical processing”.
After the workshop an in house competition on digital photography was held. The theme for the competition was “any object from the nature” in which students participated with full enthusiasm and interest.
S. Kuldip Singh, director of the institute said “We organize such workshops for the betterment of our students so that they can make their own path in their careers with zeal and confidence”
